FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is direct primary care?
Direct primary care is a membership-based approach to primary care that allows physicians to care for a smaller number of patients. This creates more time for each visit, easier access between appointments, and a more personal, proactive relationship with your doctor.
What does membership include?
Membership includes comprehensive primary care with direct access to Dr. Eric by text, phone, email, and video visit. During our launch phase, in-person visits are provided through house calls when clinically appropriate. As Ridgeline grows, these visits may transition to an office location. Every new patient begins with a comprehensive health assessment and baseline blood work to help shape a personalized care plan.
Does membership include 24-hour access?
Our standard membership provides convenient, direct access to your physician during established availability and response hours, but does not include guaranteed 24-hour access. An enhanced membership option will offer 24-hour physician access for time-sensitive medical concerns that arise after hours. Ridgeline is not a substitute for emergency services. For a life-threatening emergency, always call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.
Do I still need health insurance?
Yes. Ridgeline membership is not a replacement for health insurance. We recommend maintaining insurance for services outside the practice, including emergency care, hospitalization, specialist visits, imaging, procedures, and certain laboratory testing.
Can I contact my physician directly?
Yes. Members can communicate directly with their physician by text, phone, email, or video visit, depending on the nature of the concern. This makes it easier to ask questions, address concerns early, and determine when an in-person visit is needed.
Are house calls available?
Yes. During our launch phase, Dr. Eric offers house calls when clinically appropriate and scheduling permits. He’ll help determine whether your concern is best addressed in person or through a video visit. As Ridgeline grows, in-person visits may transition to an office location. We’ll give members advance notice if that changes.
What happens during the new-patient assessment?
Each new patient receives a comprehensive review of their medical history, current concerns, medications, lifestyle, and long-term health goals, along with extensive baseline blood work. This gives us a detailed understanding of your health and helps guide a personalized care plan.
Can Ridgeline coordinate care with specialists?
Yes. When specialty care is needed, we can help guide referrals, share relevant medical information, and stay involved in coordinating your overall care.
Is Ridgeline appropriate for emergencies?
Ridgeline can help members navigate many urgent health concerns, and our enhanced membership includes 24-hour physician access for time-sensitive medical guidance. However, Ridgeline is not an emergency service and should never delay emergency care. For a life-threatening emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.
How do I become a member?
Join our priority list to receive enrollment updates and learn when memberships become available, or email us directly at hello@ridgelineconcierge.com. Because Ridgeline will maintain an intentionally small patient panel, space will be limited.
